WALL TYPES
We can design and install several different types of retaining walls depending on what you are trying to achieve.
These range from short garden walls to complex engineed wall systems to ensure all regulatory, performance and safety requirements are met.
We can also help with the engineering and obtain the necessary permits and approvals.
GRAVITY WALL
Gravity walls are the simplest form of retaining wall.
They can be up to 6m (20ft) tall.
The structural integrity depends on the weight and how the blocks are connected.
This is the simplest wall are best suited for when there is limited space behind the wall because it requires the smallest excavation area.
REINFORCED WALL
Reinforced walls are required when traffic or other dynamic loads are above the wall.
These walls can be engineered up to 15m (50ft) tall.
The face is tied into the ground behind with long strips of mesh called geogrid.
This is the preferred method for most walls to ensure they stay in place.
FREESTANDING WALL
Freestanding walls can be used for many purposes including privacy, security and flood prevention.
These walls have finished faces on all exposed sides.
The top can be capped off or left open for gardening.
It can be used in combintion with the other wall types.
